A 49 year old female employee of Westown Pharmacy, 235 Dixon Road, reports that on January 17, 2010 at approximately 1440 hours, two male suspects, one wearing a disguise and armed with a handgun, entered the premises. The armed suspect approached the counter and made a demand for prescription drugs. The victim complied. The suspect forced the victim to open the cash register. The suspect then removed a quantity of cash and fled the scene, in a vehicle, eastbound on Dixon Road. No injuries were sustained by the victim. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence. A 55 year old male, owner of Trang’s Pharmacy Ltd., 790 Wilson Avenue, reports that on January 18, 2011 at approximately 1133 hours, a male suspect entered the premises and approached the counter. The suspect produced a handgun and made a demand for prescription drugs. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene southbound on Wilson Avenue. No injuries were sustained by the victim. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described person in connection with this offence. Description of Suspect: Male, white, 32 – 35 years, 5’5”, 165 pounds, stocky build, green eyes.

Robbery (Home Invasion) – 14 Division

A 27 year old male reports that on January 18, 2011 at approximately 0140 hours, he was about to enter his apartment in the area of Augusta Avenue and Queen Street West when he was approached from behind by two male suspects. One suspect produced a firearm, pointed it at the victim and demanded entry into the premises. The victim complied. The suspects searched the premises, removed a quantity of cash and demanded more. Another suspect struck the victim about the head and body with the handle of the gun and removed cellular phones, computer equipment, video games and a bank card. The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim sustained minor injuries but declined EMS. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence. Description of Suspect #1: Male, black, early 20’s, 5’11” – 6’1”, 130lbs – 150lbs, short black hair. Suspect #2: Male, black, mid 20’s, 5’11” – 6’1”, 160lbs – 170lbs, short black hair.

On Wednesday, January 12, 2011, four men were arrested in connection with a robbery
investigation.

It is reported that:
− on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, four men, one armed with a silver handgun, robbed a
convenience store, near Markham Road/Painted Post Avenue area,
− the men then fled the area and were arrested near the intersection of McCowan
Road/Ellesmere Avenue,

Police have not located the handgun. It is believed to have been dropped by one of the
suspects in one of the following areas:
− Painted Post Drive to Mountland Drive,
− Brimorton Drive to McCowan Avenue,
− McCowan Avenue at the intersection of Ellesmere Avenue,
− the residential area southwest of the intersection of McCowan Avenue/Ellesmere Avenue.

Charge(s): January 11, 2011 – Robbery While Armed with Firearm) (1 count each) Mercer (2 counts), Point Firearm (Mercer only), Possession Property Obtained by Crime (1 count each), Mercer (5 counts), Fail to Comply Probation (Mercer, Champagnie, Munkoh(1 count each), Fail to Comply Recognizance (Munkoh only).

Arrested and investigated by Members of Hold-Up Squad

On January 11, 2011, four male suspects attended Sherway Gardens, 25 The West Mall and entered retail stores. The suspects loaded bags with merchandise and fled. On one occasion, all of the suspects were confronted by store security. One of the suspects produced a handgun and pointed it towards a security guard. All of the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle which had previously been reported stolen from an unrelated matter. Officers gave chase and attempted to box in the vehicle. The suspects exited the vehicle and fled in different directions. Subsequently, the above suspects were apprehended a short time later. No injuries were sustained by the victims. Officers sustained minor injuries but were able to continue their tour of duty. At the time of arrest, MERCER was found to be in possession of a master filed down car key used to unlock specific vehicles. Further investigation revealed that three of the suspects had failed to comply with the conditions of their probation and recognizance. Full recovery has been made.

Robbery (Home Invasion) – 31 Division

A 30 year old male, a 33 year old male, a 25 year old male and a 24 year old male, report that on January 12. 2011 at approximately 1400 hours, they were inside their dwelling located in the area of Jane Street and Steeles Avenue when one of the victims responded to a knock at the door. At that time three male suspects, two armed with handguns, forced their way inside the premises. One of the suspects pushed and punched the victim backwards into a room with the other three victims. A second suspect who was armed with a handgun pistol whipped one of the other victims. The suspects removed a quantity of cellular telephones and laptops. The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction. Two of the victims received minor injuries but refused medical treatment. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence. Description of Suspect #1: Male, black, 25 to 30 years, 6’ to 6’1”, 180 lbs to 189 lbs, medium build, black hair. A 19 year old female and a 55 year old male, employees of Rexall IDA Pharmacy, 140 LaRose Avenue report that on January 12, 2011 at approximately 1900 hours a male suspect wearing a disguise and armed with a firearm entered the premises and approached the counter. The suspect pointed the firearm at the female victim’s head and demanded that she walk to the back of the store. Once at this location the suspect observed the male victim and pointed the firearm at this victim and made a demand for prescription drugs. The victim did not comply. The suspect then fled the scene empty handed in an older dark coloured four door vehicle in an unknown direction. No injuries were sustained by the victims. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described person in connection with this offence. Description of Suspect: Male, white, 5’5” to 5’6”, 130 lbs, thin build.

A 16 year old male reports that on January 14, 2011 at approximately 1530 hours, he was walking in the area of Marcos Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East, when he was approached by two suspects in a vehicle. The suspects exited the vehicle and engaged the victim in conversation. One suspect produced a handgun and the suspects removed the victim’s iPod and cellular telephone. The suspects then fled the scene in a blue Honda civic in an unknown direction. No injuries were sustained by the victim. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence. Description of Suspect #1: Male, black, 30-40 years, 6’, brown eyes. Shooting – 54 Division

On January 16, 2011 at approximately 0200 hours, officers responded to a radio call for a shooting in the area of Donlands Avenue and Danforth Avenue. A male victim was located in the area with a gunshot wound to the stomach. The victim was transported to a hospital by Toronto EMS, where he was admitted and treated. His condition is unknown at this time. NO SUSPECT DESCRIPTION IS AVAILABLE.

A 43 year old, a 37 year old and a 29 year old, male employees of Roger’s Global Wireless Solutions Inc., 22 Dixon Road, reports that on January 4, 2011 at approximately 1850 hours five male suspects entered the premises. Two of the suspects ordered the victims to the ground while a third suspect produced a firearm, demanding personal property from all victims.  Two more male suspects demanded access to the rear of the store, and removed a quantity of new and used cellular phones and products. The suspects then fled the scene eastbound on Dixon Road. No injuries were sustained by the victims. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1:  Male, black, 20 – 22 years, 6’0” – 6’1”, 120 – 130 lbs, slim build. On Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at 2:36 p.m., police responded to a shooting call at 1021
Birchmount Road.

Officers attended and located a 27−year−old man, suffering from obvious gunshot wounds, on the first−floor hallway of the building.

The victim was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time.

A post−mortem examination is to be scheduled.

An 18 year old male reports that on January 9, 2011 at approximately 1345 hours, he was in an apartment building in the area of Kipling Avenue and Steeles Avenue West when he entered an elevator with three male suspects.   One of the suspects engaged him in a conversation while another suspect produced a grey revolver and pointed it at him.  The suspects held the victim against the elevator door, while they searched the victim’s pockets.  The suspects fled the scene with the victim’s Blackberry and his wallet containing identification and a quantity of cash.  No injuries were sustained by the victim.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1: Male, black, 16 to 20 years, 5’10”, to 5’11”, 161 pounds, medium build, short straight black hair.  Suspect #2:  Male, black, 16 to 20 years, 5’10” to 5’11”, 169 to 180 pounds, medium build.  Suspect #3:  Male, black, 14 to 16 years, 5’8” to 5’9”, 150 to 161 pounds, medium build.

A 28 year old male reports that on December 22, 2010 at approximately 2317 hours, he was in his dwelling on Markham Road when four male suspects wearing disguises forced their way in.  One suspect struck the victim about the head with a handgun and forced the victim and three other victims to the basement where they were confined to a bathroom.  The suspects then removed a quantity of property and identifications from the dwelling and fled the scene in an unknown direction.  Toronto EMS attended and transported two of the victims to a hospital where they were treated for their injuries and released. Woman faces four charges in firearm investigation

On Friday, September 24, 2010, police responded to a call for a fire at 200 Wellesley Street East.

At the time of the fire, the entire building was evacuated and sealed off by security and police.

While residents were housed at other locations, Toronto Community Housing continued to keep the building sealed off. Repairs to the building were started and repair teams went from one unit to another.

It is alleged that:

− on Friday, October 22, 2010, an employee of a contracting company started doing repairs to one of the units,
− the employee saw a white box located in a closet,
− the employee opened the box and found a Heckler and Koch model 91 semi−automatic
assault rifle.

On Wednesday, December 22, 2010, Shar−Dey Phipps−Walker, 22, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1) Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
2) Possession prohibited weapon,
3) Careless storage of a firearm,
4) Careless storage of a prohibited weapon.

She was scheduled to appear in court at College Park, on Thursday, December 23, 2010, room 501, at 10 a.m.

A 56 year old male reports that on December 23, 2010 at approximately 2000 hours, he was in the area of Potsdam Road and Finch Avenue West when he was approached by two male suspects. One suspect produced a handgun while the other suspect grabbed the victim and made a demand for cash. The victim complied. One suspect removed the victim’s wrist watch. The suspects then fled the scene westbound on Finch Avenue West. No injuries were sustained by the victim. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1-#2: Male, black, 20-25 years, 5’6”-5’8”, 150-169 pounds, medium build.

A male and female both 29 years old, report that on December 23, 2010 at approximately 2130 hours, they were in their home in the area of Lawrence Avenue West and Avenue Road when two male suspects entered the residence.  One suspect produced a firearm and made demands for a safe.  The male victim advised they didn’t have a safe.  The suspects tied up the victims and searched the home for the safe.  The suspects then attempted to confirm the address of the home.  The suspects removed laptops, bottles of wine and video game consoles and fled the scene in an unknown direction.  No injuries were sustained by the victims.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1:  Male, black, 17-21 years, 5’10”.  Suspect #2:  Male, black, 17-21 years.  NO FURTHER DESCRIPTIONS AVAILABLE.

Three men face 26 charges in firearm investigation, Firearm seized

On Thursday, December 23, 2010, at 2:50 a.m., police responded to a call for shots fired at 15 Brunel Court.

It is alleged that:

− two groups of men became involved in a verbal confrontation which escalated into a firearm being discharged twice,
− one of the rounds entered a seventh−floor unit through a tenant’s living room window,
− the men fled from the area in a car,
− the car fled onto the Gardiner Expressway and was seen by a highway traffic officer travelling at 140 km/hr,
− the car crashed on the South Kingsway off−ramp after a short police pursuit,
− during the crash, one of the occupants threw a .40 calibre semi−automatic weapon out of the passenger window, later seized by police,
− the driver and the passengers were then arrested by police.

Gary Dacres, 39, of Mississauaga, has been charged with:

1) Fail To Stop for Police,
2) Dangerous Operation,
3) Impaired Driving,
4) Refuse Breath Sample,
5) Possession of a Firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized,
6) Unauthorized presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle,

9) Possession of a Firearm contrary to Prohibition Order.

Addie Downey, 33, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) two counts of Discharge Firearm Endanger Life,
2) Pointing a Firearm,
3) Careless use of a Firearm,
4) Weapons Dangerous,
5) Mischief Under,
6) Possession of a Firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized,
7) Unauthorized presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle,
8) Unauthorized possession of a Firearm,
9) Possession of a Prohibited Weapon obtained by Crime,
10) two counts of Obstruct peace Officer,
11) Personation with Intent

Cory Fraser, 34, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) Possessions of a Firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized,
2) Unauthorized presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle,
3) Possession of a Prohibited weapon Obtained by Crime,
4) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

A 31 year old male employee of Petro Canada, 9501 Sheppard Avenue East, reports that on December 24, 2010 at approximately 2139 hours, two male suspects wearing disguises entered the premises and went behind the counter. One suspect produced a handgun and ordered the victim to the floor.  The suspects removed a quantity of cash from the cash register, lottery tickets from a display counter and cigarettes from drawers. The suspects then fled the scene westbound on Sheppard Avenue East. No injuries were sustained by the victims. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1: Male, white, 5’5’-5’6”. Suspect #2: Male, white, 6’, thin build.

Attempt Murder – 11 Division

A 17 year old male reports that on December 25, 2010 at approximately 1800 hours he was in the area of Dundas Street West and Jane Street West when he heard the sound of gunshots.  After hearing the gunshots, he observed a bus shelter shatter, and made good his escape. Upon arriving at home he observed a gunshot wound to the left thigh. The victim was then transported to hospital by Peel Region EMS for treatment where he was treated for his injuries and released. Robbery (Home Invasion) – 32 Division

Six male adults report that on December 26, 2010 at approximately 1030 hours, one of the males was entering an apartment in the area of Northtown Way and Doris Avenue when two male suspects, wearing disguises, forced their way inside. One suspect produced a handgun and made a demand for the victims’ cash and cellular phones. The victims complied. The suspects also removed a playstation from the premises and personal belongings from the victims. The suspects then fled the scene in an awaiting older style dark Nissan Altima, 4-door, black, towards Doris Avenue. One victim sustained minor injuries and will seek his own medical attention. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1: Male, black, 5’8”-5’9”, 130-141 pounds, skinny build.  Suspect #2:  Male, black, 5’9”-6’, 161-180 pounds, medium build.

Robbery (Swarming) – 32 Division

A 26 year old female and a 36 year old male report that on December 28, 2010 at approximately 2130 hours, they were walking towards their vehicle parked in the lot at 3401 Dufferin Street, when they observed three male suspects inside their vehicle.  The male victim confronted the suspects and one of the suspects fled the scene towards a vehicle also parked in the parking lot.  Another suspect produced a handgun and made a demand for the female victim’s purse and she complied.  The suspects removed audio equipment from the vehicle and fled towards the waiting vehicle.  The vehicle fled the scene travelling southbound towards Highway 401.  No injuries were sustained by the victims. A 24 year old male employee of Mac’s Convenience located at 735 Renforth Drive, reports that on December 29, 2010 at approximately 0320 hours three male suspects entered the premises wearing disguises and armed with a silver handgun.  The suspects ordered the victim to the ground.  The victim complied.  The suspects made a demand for the victim to open the safe.  The victim refused.  One of the suspects punched the victim in the head.  The victim complied and opened the safe.  The suspects removed a quantity of cash from the safe along with cigarettes, lottery tickets and the victim’s cell phone.  The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.  Minor injuries were sustained by the victim, but he will seek his own medical attention.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1: Male, white, 5’8” to 5’11”, 180 pounds, heavy build.  Suspect #2:  Male, black, 5’8” to 5’11”, thin build.  Suspect #3:  Male, black, 5’8” to 5’11”, thin build.

It is alleged that:
− several gunshots were heard in the area,
− officers attended and located four men,
− a firearm was recovered,
− spent shell casings were also located.

A 19 year old male reports that on December 29, 2010 at approximately 1850 hours, he was walking in the area of Westmore Drive and Humber College Boulevard when a male suspect approached from behind. The suspect produced a handgun, made a demand for cash and the victim’s cellular phone and threatened him with harm. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene westbound on Humber College Boulevard. No injuries were sustained by the victim.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described person in connection with this offence.
Description of Suspect: Male black, 22 to 24 years, 5’8” to 5’10”, 150 to 160 pounds, brown eyes.

Three males age 35, 40, 53 years and a female age 43 years, report that on December 30, 2010 at approximately 1730 hours, four male suspects wearing disguises, one armed with a handgun entered the premises and ordered the victims to the floor.  One victim was pistol whipped and the victims had their hands tied behind their back.  The suspects made a demand for cash and jewellery while one victim was punched and kicked about the body repeatedly.  The suspects removed cellular phones, cash, jewellery, credit cards, audio visual equipment and keys to the residence and a vehicle.  The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.  One of the victims was transported to hospital where he was treated for his injuries and later released.  The other victims sustained minor injuries and will seek their own medical attention.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspects #1-#4:Male.  NO FURTHER DESCRIPTION AVAILABLE.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance with a shooting investigation.

It is reported that:
− on Friday, December 31, 2010, at 2:31 a.m., a security guard was on duty at 330 Dixon Road,
− two men approached the security office from outside the building,
− one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and shot at the security guard.

The security guard was uninjured.

The suspects are described as:

1) black, 20−25, 5’10”−5’11”, wearing a dark winter jacket, armed with a handgun
2) black, 20−25, 5’10”−5’11”, wearing a dark winter jacket

Robbery (Home Invasion) – 43 Division

Two males age 20 and 24 years, one female age 27 years, report that on December 31, 2010 at approximately 0100 hours, four male suspects entered a residence located in the No. 43 Division area, two armed with shotguns and two armed with baseball bats.  The suspects ordered the victims to the floor and removed their wallets and cellular phones.  The suspects located a safe, instructed one of the victims to open it, struck him in the face with the butt of a weapon and threatened him with harm.  The victim was unable to open the safe.  The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction.  One victim sustained minor injuries and will seek his own medical attention.  No injuries were sustained by the other two victims.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1: Male, black, 20-22 years, 5’7”-5’9”.  Suspect #2:Male, black, 20-22 years, 6’3”, thin build.  Suspect #3:Male, black, 18-20 years, 6’1”, medium build.  Suspect #4:Male, black.  NO FURTHER DESCRIPTION AVAILABLE.

On Friday, December 31, 2010, members of the TAVIS Rapid Response Team were on patrol in the Queen Street West/Spadina Avenue area.

It is alleged that:
− officers investigated a man at Queen Street West/Spadina Avenue,
− during the investigation, a Jennings 9mm pistol, with seven rounds of ammunition, was
seized from the man.

Rowan Atkins, 22, Toronto has been charged with:
1. Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition,
2. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm,
3. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized,
4. Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order,
5. Possession of Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order,
6. Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order,
7. Possession of Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order,
8. Carry Concealed Weapon.
