Robbery (Financial Institution) – 33 Division

A teller for the National Bank, 2002 Sheppard Avenue East reports that on November 26, 2010 at approximately 1518 hours, four male suspects carrying handguns and wearing disguises entered the premises. Two suspects waited by the door while the other two suspects jumped over the counter.  The suspects removed a quantity of cash and all suspects then fled the scene in a white Honda, Accord.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1: Male, black,16-20 years, 5’6”-5’8”, 161 lbs, thin build, short black hair.  Suspect #2-3: Male, 17-20 years. Robbery (Mugging) – 33 Division

A 22 year old male reports that on November 27, 2010 at approximately 0058 hours, he was walking in the area of Bayview Avenue and Steeles Avenue East, when two male suspects approached from behind.  One of the suspects produced a handgun, pointed it towards the victim and made a demand for his personal property.  The victim complied.  Both suspects then fled the scene in a northerly direction towards Steeles Avenue East.  No injuries were sustained by the victim.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1: Male, black, 23-28 years, 5’11”, medium build, short black afro hair.  Suspect #2:Male, black, 23-28 years, 5’9”-5’10”, 150 pounds, thin build, short black afro hair.

Robbery – 31 Division

A 59 year old male reports that on November 27, 2010 at approximately 1230 hours he was sitting in his vehicle in the area of Jane Street and Finch Avenue West when he was approached by two male suspects. One suspect produced a handgun, the second suspect produced a knife. One suspect  struck the victim and made a demand for cash. The victim complied.  The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction.  The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1: Male, black, 30 years, 5’6” to 5’7”, medium build, short black hair.  Suspect #2: Male, black, 30 years, 5’8” to 5’9”, thin build, short black hair.

Attempt Murder – 14 Division

A 47 year old male reports that on November 27, 2010 at approximately 0355 hours he was in an establishment the the area of Dundas Street West when he was approached by three male suspects.  One suspect produced a handgun and fired a shot striking the victim in the back.  The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim was transported to hospital where he was treated for gunshot wounds, admitted and currently listed in satisfactory condition.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1- #3: Male, black.  NO FURTHER DESCRIPTION AVAILABLE.

Robbery (Mugging) – 33 Division

A 37 year old female reports that on November 28, 2010 at approximately 2010 hours, she was entering her residence located in the Don Mills Road and Seneca Hill Drive area, when two unknown suspects and one male suspect approached.  One of the suspects produced a handgun and made a demand for her property along with a television that she was carrying.  A struggle ensued and the victim fell to the ground.  The suspects grabbed the victim’s purse, cellular phone and television from her person and fled the scene towards Don Mills Road.   The victim sustained minor injuries and will seek her own medical attention.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspects #1-#2:Black, 20-23 years, 5’7”-5’8”, 155-160 pounds, stocky build, brown eyes.  NO FURTHER DESCRIPTION AVAILABLE.  Suspect #3:Male, black, 19-22 years, 5’4”, 125-130 pounds, thin build.

A 21 year old employee of Dairy Queen Restaurant, 1591 Weston Road, reports that on November 29, 2010 at approximately 2040 hours, two male suspects wearing disguises entered the premises.  One suspect produced a gun and made a demand for cash.  The victim did not comply.  The suspects fled the scene empty handed southbound on Weston Road.  No injuries were sustained by the victim.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1-#2: Male, black, 17-20 years, 5’7”-5’8”, 150-161 pounds, thin build.

Two females, 19 and 22 years, report that on November 30, 2010 at approximately 2030 hours, they were in the area of Humber College Boulevard and Highway 27 when they were approached by two male suspects.  One of the suspects produced a pellet gun and made a demand for property. The victims complied handing over a cellular telephone and a quantity of cash and identification. The suspects then fled the scene heading in an unknown direction. The victims did not sustain any injuries. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1: Male, black, 20 to 25 years, 5’7”, thin build. A 23 year old male reports that on November 30, 2010 at approximately 2155 hours, he was in the area of Humber College Boulevard and Humberline Drive when he was approached from behind by two male suspects. One of the suspects made a demand for property, produced a pellet gun and shot the victim about the head. The suspects then fled the scene empty-handed in an unknown direction. The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken by members of Toronto EMS to hospital for treatment. Three people face 33 firearm−related charges, Handgun and ammunition seized

On Wednesday, December 1, 2010, shortly after 1 a.m., police executed a search warrant at a home on Beresford Avenue.

It is alleged that:
− at the time of the search warrant, a bag was thrown from a rear balcony of the address,
− a .45 calibre high point semi−automatic handgun and a quantity of drugs were found in the bag,
− three people in the home were arrested and charged.

Coady Duhamel, 22, of no fixed address, Wesley Sommers, 18, of Toronto, and Caitlin
Sommers, 20, of Toronto have each been charged with:
1. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm,
2. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized,
3. Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition,
4. Possession of Prohibited Weapon Obtained by the Commission of an Offence,
5. Firearm Careless Storage,
6. Possess Firearm Knowing the Serial Number has been Altered, Defaced or Removed,
7. Weapons Dangerous,
8. Possession for the Purpose Cocaine,
9. Possession of Cocaine,
10. Possession of Proceeds of Crime.

Coady Duhamel is additionally charged with:
1. Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order,
2. Possession of Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order,
3. Fail to Comply Recognizance.

All accused appeared in court at Old City Hall on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, room 101, 2 p.m.

A 61 year old male reports that on December 1, 2010 at approximately 1800 hours, he was in his dwelling in the area of Queen Street East and Jones Avenue when four male suspects wearing disguises entered the residence.  Two suspects produced handguns and made a demand for cash.  The victim complied.  One suspect tied up the victim.  The suspects searched the residence and removed a television and a cellphone.  The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.  No injuries were sustained by the victim.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1: Male, black, 19-22 years, 5’10”, 161-189 pounds, stocky build.  Suspect #2: Male, black, 19-22 years, 5’8”-5’10”, 141-180 pounds, medium build.  Suspect #3: Male, black, 5’8”-5’10”, 141-180 pounds, medium build. A 49 year old male employee of BecK Taxi reports that on December 2, 2010 at approximately 0525 hours, he was dispatched to pick-up a fare in the area of Varna Drive and Dorney Court.  Once at the location, a male suspect approached him.  The suspect produced a handgun and made a demand for cash.  The victim complied.  The suspect then fled the scene westbound on Dorney Court.  No injuries were sustained by the victim.   Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described person in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect: Male, black, 5’6”, medium build.

Man faces eight charges in firearm investigation, Firearm seized

On Thursday, December 2, 2010, at 11 p.m., members of the TAVIS Rapid Response Team were on patrol in the 50 Lotherton Pathway area.

It is alleged that:
− police investigated a man in the lobby of 50 Lotherton Pathway,
− police located a loaded black pistol in the area,
− the man fled on foot and was captured a short distance away.

Bryan Young, 22, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
2) Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
3) Possession of a Firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
4) Possession of Firearm while prohibited
5) Careless use of a Firearm
6) Weapons dangerous
7) Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest
8) Possession of Cocaine

The accused was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Friday, December 3, 2010, room 101, at 9 a.m.
