Robbery (Mugging) – 31 Division

A 28 year old male reports that on October 29, 2010 at approximately 0045 hours, he was in the area of Wilson Avenue and Dallner Road, when he was approached from behind by two male suspects wearing disguises.  One suspect produced a handgun and made a demand for property. The victim complied and handed over a wallet and cellular telephone. The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1: Male, black, 27 to 30 years, 5’8” to 5’9”, 150 pounds, medium build, short black afro-styled hair.  Suspect #2: Male, black, 27 to 30 years, 5’6” to 5’8”, 150 pounds, medium build, short black afro-styled hair.

Two woman and two men face 56 charges in drug investigation

On Thursday, October 28, 2010, members of the TPS Drug Squad executed a search warrant at Charley T’s, 1111 Finch Avenue West, .

It is alleged that:

− police located a quantity of powder cocaine, MDMA tablets, a quantity of money, a loaded model 20 Glock pistol and an additional 50 rounds, a Taser, a replica Berretta 92F pistol and a replica .44 magnum revolver.

Arrested are:

Vamegh Bagherinia, 35, of Pickering, is charged with:
− four counts of Traffic in cocaine ,
− four counts of Possession of proceeds of crime,
− possession of cocaine,
− Possession of MDMA,
− two counts of Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition,
− two counts of Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized,
− two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm,
− two counts of Store, Display firearm contrary to regulation,
− two counts of Possession of firearm obtained by the commission of an offence,

Vanessa Madeline Stubbs, 22, of Toronto, is charged with:
− seven counts of Traffic in cocaine,
− seven counts of Possession of proceeds of crime,

Raymond Derek Hibbert, 42, of Toronto, is charged with:
− four counts of Traffic in cocaine,
− four counts of Possession of proceeds of crime,
− Possession of cocaine,
− Possession of MDMA
− Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition,
− Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized,
− unauthorized possession of a firearm,
− Store, display firearm contrary to regulation,
− Careless storage ammunition,
− Possession of firearm obtained by the commission of an offence,
− Possession prohibited weapon

Also on Thursday, October 28, 2010, members of the TPS Drug Squad executed another search warrant in the Toryork Drive/Milvan Drive area.

It is alleged that:

− police located a loaded model 20 Glock 10 mm pistol, and a replica pistol.

Lacramioara Porcaras, 31, of Toronto, is charged with:
− Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition,
− Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized,
− unauthorized possession of a firearm,
− Store, display firearm contrary to regulation,
− Possession of firearm obtained by the commission of an offence,

They were scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Friday , October 29, 2010, room 101, at 10 a.m.

Two Young Offenders face 37 charges in drug/firearm investigation, Two loaded handguns and drugs seized

On Friday, October 29, 2010, officers from the Toronto Drug Squad were conducting an investigation in the Eglinton Ave East/Kingston Road area.

It is alleged that:

− an undercover officer had a drug−related conversation with two boys, aged 16 and 17,
− at the end of the conversation, both boys walked off into a nearby building,
− plainclothes officers in the building identified themselves as police officers, advising both boys they were under arrest for trafficking in cocaine,
− the 17−year−old boy ran from the building in a northerly direction, while officers were able to take hold of the 16−year−old,
− a struggle ensued between the 16−year−old and police officers, during which the
16−year−old pulled a handgun from his waistband area and pointed it at the officers,
− the struggle continued outside of the building,
− the 16−year−old was able to break free from the officers and ran in a northeasterly direction,
− officers chased both boys through a nearby schoolyard,
− the 16−year−old was seen discarding the handgun and a quantity of crack cocaine onto the ground in the schoolyard,
− the 17−year−old was seen with a handgun while he was running through the school yard,
− while he was running through the schoolyard, he pointed the handgun at a bystander, making a threat to kill him if he intervened.
− as the police officers closed in, the 17−year−old discarded his handgun into nearby bushes,
− both were arrested a short distance away.

It is further alleged that:

− police officers recovered a fully loaded semi−automatic Ruger .45 calibre handgun and a fully loaded semi automatic P38 9 mm handgun, a quantity of crack cocaine, marijuana and cash.

The 16−year−old was charged with:
1) Traffic cocaine
2) Possession of Proceeds of Crime
3) Fail to Comply Recognizance
4) Fail to Comply Recognizance
5) Failing to Comply with Probation
6) Failing to Comply with Probation
7) Failing to Comply with Probation
8) Possession FTP Marijuana (Under)
9) Possession for the Purpose Cocaine
10) Unauthorized possession of a restricted Weapon
11) Possession of a restricted firearm with Ammunition
12) Possession of a restricted weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized
13) Possession of a restricted weapon at unauthorized place
14) Possession of firearm obtained by the commission of an offence
15) Possess firearm knowing the serial number has been altered, defaced or removed
16) Weapons dangerous
17) Unauthorized presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle
18) Careless use of a firearm
19) Point firearm
20) Possession of prohibited device for a dangerous purpose
21) Threatening death
22) Assault with intent to resist arrest
23) Assault with intent to resist arrest
24) Escape from lawful custody

The 17−year−old was charged with:

1) Traffic cocaine
2) Possession of Proceeds of Crime
3) Possession of Marijuana (Under)
4) Unauthorized possession of a restricted Weapon
5) Possession of a restricted firearm with Ammunition
6) Possession of a restricted weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized
7) Possession of a restricted weapon at unauthorized place
8) Possession of firearm obtained by the commission of an offence
9) Weapons dangerous
10) Unauthorized presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle
11) Careless use of a firearm
12) Possession of prohibited device for a dangerous purpose
13) Assault with intent to resist arrest

They were scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Saturday, October 30, 2010.
They cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

This investigation was part of a TAVIS initiative. The Toronto Anti-Violence Intervention Strategy is a Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services provincially funded initiative, dedicated to creating and maintaining sustainable, safe neighbourhoods. TAVIS initiatives are operating in all of the 17 Toronto police Divisions and are supported by every unit in the Service.

Robbery – 22 Division

A 15 year old male reports that on October 30, 2010 at approximately 2120 hours, he was in the area of Lloyd Manor Rd when he was approached by two male suspects. One suspect produced a firearm, while another suspect removed a cellular telephone from the victim. The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction. No injuries were sustained by the victim. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1:   Male, white, 18 – 20 years, 5’11”, thin build.  Suspect #2:  Male, brown, 18 – 20 years, 6’3” NO FURTHER DESCRIPTION AVAILABLE.

An 18 year old male reports that on October 30, 2010 at approximately 2350 hours, he was in the area of Jeffcoat Drive and Martingrove Avenue when he was approached from behind by two male suspects.  One suspect produced a handgun, pointed it at the victim’s chest, and made a demand for property. The victim complied. The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction. No injuries were sustained by the victim. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1:  Male, black, 20 – 23 years, 6’0” – 6’1”, medium build. Suspect #2:  Male, white, 19 – 22 years, 5’6” – 5’7”, thin build.

Discharge Firearm Intend Wound – 23 Division

A 18 year old male reports that on October 31, 2010 at approximately 0000 hours, he was in the area of Islington Avenue and Dixon Road when he was approached by three male suspects.  The suspects assaulted and shot the victim in the lower abdomen area.  The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1: Male, black, 20 years, 5’5” – 5’7”, medium build.  Suspect #2: Male, black, 20 years, 5’ – 5’7”.  Suspect #3: Male, white, 5’ – 5’7”.

Robbery (Business) – 22 Division

Two males, ages 21 and 39 years, employees of Pizza Pizza, 2814 Lake Shore Boulevard, report that on October 31, 2010 at approximately 0315 hours, a male suspect wearing a disguise entered the premises and approached the counter.  The suspect produced a hand gun and pushed one victim to the floor.  A struggle ensured between the suspect and the second victim.  The suspect fled the scene empty handed in an unknown direction.  The victims did not sustain any injuries.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described person in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect: Male, 5’8” – 5’9”, 154 – 165 pounds, thin build.

Robbery (Financial Institution) – 22 Division

A 38 year old female and a 25 year old male employee of CIBC, 4914 Dundas Street West, report that on November 1, 2010 at approximately 1340 hours, a male suspect entered the premises and approached the counter.  The suspect produced a handgun and made a demand for cash.  The victims complied.  The suspect then fled the scene northbound on Burnhamthorpe Road.  No injuries were sustained by the victim.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described person in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect: Male, black 28 to 31 years, 5’7” to 5’8”, 169 to 170 pounds, thin build, brown hair, brown eyes.

Robbery (Mugging) – 52 Division

A 23 year old male reports that on November 1, 2010 at approximately 0320 hours, he was in the area of Bathurst Street and Spadina Avenue when he was approached by a male suspect wearing a mask.  The suspect reached into his own pockets indicating he was armed and made a demand for the victim’s wallet and cellular phone.  A struggle ensued and the suspect fired a shot striking the victim in the left calf.  The suspect fled the scene empty-handed westbound on College Street accompanied by a second male suspect.  The victim attended a hospital where he was admitted, treated for his injuries and released.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1: Male, black, 17-27 years, 5’7”-5’9”, 150-169 lbs, thin build.  Suspect #2: Male, 18-28 years, 6’4”-6’5”, 169-200 lbs, thin build.

Robbery (Vehicle Jacking) – 23 Division

A 28 year old female reports that on November 2, 2010 at approximately 2135 hours, she was in her vehicle in the area of Orpington Crescent and Kendleton Drive when a male suspect exited a vehicle and approached her.  The suspect produced a handgun, demanded the victim to exit her vehicle and turn over her car keys and cellular telephone.  The victim complied.  The suspect threatened the victim, entered the victim’s vehicle and then drove off followed by the suspect’s vehicle driven by another suspect in an unknown direction.  No injuries were sustained by the victim.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1:  Male, black, 30 to 34 years, 5’6” to 5’7”, 161 to 180 pounds.  Suspect #2:  NO DESCRIPTION OF SUSPECT AVAILABLE.  Toronto Alert #4029, November 3, 2010.

Attempt Murder – 31 Division

Two males aged 20 years and 22 years report that on November 3, 2010 at approximately 1110 hours they were in the area of Finch Avenue West and Sentinel Road when they were approached from behind by two males suspects armed with handguns.  The suspects grabbed the victims and an altercation ensued.  At that time shots were fired by one of the suspects and one shot struck one of the victims. The suspects then fled the scene northbound towards Fountainhead Road.  One of the victims was transported to a hospital by Toronto EMS where he was treated for his injuries.  No injuries were sustained by the second victim. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1:  Male, black, 23-26 years, 5’8” to 5’10”, 150 lbs to 169 lbs, medium build.  Suspect #2:  Male, black, 23-26 years, 5’8” to 6’, 161 lbs to 189 lbs, medium build.

Robbery (Mugging) – 43 Division

A 19 year old male reports that on November 11, 2010 at approximately 2225 hours, he was standing on the bus platform at 300 Borough Drive, when a male suspect approached from behind.  The suspect made a demand for his iphone, produced a handgun and held it towards his stomach.  The victim complied.  The suspect then fled the scene towards the mall.  No injuries were sustained by the victim.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described person in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect: Male, black, 25-30 years, 6’0”.
